Scania Metrolink coaches delivered to Parveen Travels in Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Chennai, July 16, 2014: Scania Commercial Vehicles India, a leading commercial vehicles and engines manufacturer, today delivered the first Scania Metrolink
coaches to Parveen Travels in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Mr. Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director, Scania India and Senior Vice President, Scania Group, and Mr. A. Afzal, Managing Director, Parveen Travels and President of Tamil Nadu Omni Bus Operators Association, were present during the occasion.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director, Scania India and Senior Vice President said, “This is our first Scania Metrolink handover in Chennai and we are very pleased to be associated with Parveen Travels, who are known to be front runners in customer service. Scania Metrolink is specially designed for Indian conditions and is set to upgrade intercity transportation system to a completely new level of luxury and safety.

Passengers will get to experience ultra luxury features and comfort, coupled with top notch safety provisions. Scania Metrolink comes with superior Total Operating Economy that will boost fuel savings significantly, which in turn will keep the CO2 emission low.”

Parveen Travels is headquartered in Chennai, will operate the bus between Chennai and Kochi. Parveen Travels is the single largest fleet operator with an ISO certificate in Tamil Nadu. Launched in February 2013, the Scania Metrolink range introduces highly reliable multi-purpose coaches for medium and long distance travel in the Indian market.
